The neutral tone is a special kind of Chinese phonetic phenomena.The study of the neutral tone and neutral tone words has been a focus of the Chinese phonetic research. Recently the focus to neutral tone has been transforming from its ontology to the teaching.This thesis selects neutral tone words in Developing Chinese Comprehensive(Second Edition) as the research object.Through statistics collection of neutral tone words at every level,this thesis tries to make a comprehensive and detailed investigation on the neutral tone words in the textbook. It aims at providing reference for the study on the neutral tone teaching in TCFL,which provides further effective help for teaching practice.This thesis is divided into five chapters.The introduction part introduces the research background of this thesis and the reason of choosing this topic. The status and development trend of the neutral tone at home and abroad is systemically summarized, including a summary of the study on the ontology of Chinese neutral tone and the study on the neutral tone teaching in TCFL. Meanwhile, the introduction also described the purpose and significance of the study, its content and objectives and methods of this thesis.Chapter one makes an exhaustive statistical analysis of neutral tone words in Developing Chinese Comprehensive and makes a classification according to the criteria. Then it investigates the distribution of neutral tone words at different levels. Meanwhile, this chapter also makes an investigation on the distribution and usage of neutral tone words in New HSK outline and Chinese level vocabulary and Chinese Syllabus.Chapter two makes a comparative study of neutral tone words at different levels and internal levels in Developing Chinese Comprehensive. And it also made a detailed study on the phonetic and exercises of neutral tone words in the textbook. It aims at finding out whether the phonetic in this textbook is reasonable and how to improve the design of neutral tone words in the textbook.Chapter three makes a comparative study of the neutral tone words in Developing Chinese Comprehensive and two outlines. It has conducted an detailed investigation on the distribution of neutral tone words and comparison results.Chapter four is the errors analysis and questionnaire survey based on Developing Chinese Comprehensive.Questionnaire survey investigates the learning attitude and strategy of students abroad on neutral tone words. On the other hand, it makes an objective investigation on the grasping for neutral tone words of students abroad through the test. Through the questionnaire survey,we summarize the learning problems of students abroad on neutral tone words and reflect the teaching strategies of neutral tone words in TCFL.Chapter five is the teaching reflection and suggestions on the problems reflected by the questionnaire survey. This chapter puts forward the aiming suggestions to the foreign students' learning strategies,the textbook of neutral tone and neutral tone teaching in TCFL.It hopes to provide relevant data for the textbook writing and provide effective help to teaching practice.In a word,neutral tone is an indispensable phenomenon in the process of learning Chinese and is also one of carriers of classroom teaching.Starting with neutral tone words in the textbook,this thesis seeks to find some problems of learning neutral tone words in the textbook through comparative study and questionnaire survey,which aims at providing some suggestions on textbook writing and classroom teaching of neutral tone words.
