The Tang-Song school is an important school of literature during Jiajing years in the Mid-Ming period. Wang Shenzhong, Tang Shunzhi, Gui Youguang and Mao Kun are representative figure of this school. Their basic ideals was opposed to replace "conveying the truth" with literary grace in the Seven-Person school, was advocated "unity of literature and ethic" of ancient traditions. They comment on Zeng Gong’s prose that strengthen later readers’recognition on "elegant and plain" of it. On the one hand,Tang-Song school enjoyed the thought features of "conveying the truth" and "Pure Confucianism". On the other hand, everyone feels different about Verbal expression and lines statutes of Zeng Gong’s prose:Wang Shenzhong thought Zeng Gong’s prose is bebased on Quran and Hadeeth in the content, with a plain narration style and a grace elegant art style, it can be described as "a win-win situation in the verbal and righteousness"; Tang Shunzhi praised Confucian implication of content in the Zeng Gong’s prose. At the same time, pointed out that its lines statutes is lack of changes, it is difficult to achieve the harmonious circle of Ou Yangxiu’s and Su Shi’s prose; Gui Youguang be different from the other three, comment and imitate on Zeng Gong’s several works full of Confucianism; Mao Kun highly appreciated Zeng Gong’s prose "without prejudice to ethic",but pointed out that its text is "wooden and hard", it is lack of a touching artistic charm.Tang-Song school appreciated mellow content of Zeng Gong’s prose, because of their "writing for Dao"ideas, understanding of the intellectual and moral consciousness, response to "fashion prose based on ancient one" reform of the Ming Dynasty, opposed to modification style of the Seven-Person school. However, everyone feels different about Zeng Gong’s prose, because of their literary aesthetic ideas, different acceptance of Wang Yangming’s mind ideas, and have great cognitive changes on literature and art along with the time advance. Tang-Song school of Ming dynasty comment on the Zeng Gong’s prose that it has a precise place, there are also biased. These viewpoints on Zeng Gong’s prose have broad and far-reaching impact on receiving and research of it in the future, it has great value.
