Portraiture is a special form of painting and it has a long history. Various forms have emerged in its process of development.A successful portraiture should have the following three elements: outline, appearance and physiological characteristics of the character; verve and character; status, life background and experience. The above elements are very important and necessary for a good portraiture.To meet the above demand, a painter should do as the following: to observe carefully, to understand deeply, to create with sincere feeling and to possess excellent professional skills.With the progress of history and change of ideology, mores forms will emerge. However, to express the perfect image of the character, the above mentioned characteristics are indispensable.
