Han and Wei Dynasty is a very splendid era in China's literary history, which is characterized by the prosperity of poetry. And the literary work of Music Bureau during Jianan period has achieved great success and occupied a very important position during this period. This paper mainly discusses the creative style and features as well as developing trend by drawing references from the research result of predecessors.This paper is composed of four chapters. The first chapter clarifies the researchscope and research object------the poetic creation of Music Bureau of the harmoniousmusic and inharmonious music from 175AD to 239AD. The second chapter tries to restore the general features of the musical institutions in late Han Dynasty and Wei Dynasty. Because literary Jianan leaps over historical Han Dynasty and Wei Dynasty, the musical institutions are either hereditary or newly-created, among which the set-up and functions of Qingshangshu is the major point of this paper. The works of Cao father and son are orchestrated for orchestra in Qingshangshu and sung by singing-girls, therefore, the female music prospers. This kind of activity is beneficial to the keeping of music scores and poetry as well as ballads.The third chapter elaborates the situations of literary work of Music Bureau during Jianan period. 170 works by 11 poets are concerned in this chapter. The literary work at that time gives priority to musical dialogues and songs. They combine the gracefulness and generosity of the society and the elegance and elevation of the music tune, thereby forming the literary style which is different from other Dynasties. Caozhi's miscellaneous music and songs as well as ballads change gradually from the songs and ballads of Music Bureau into the poetry of Music Bureau, and gradually exceed the category that the Music Bureau must accord with the music.The fourth chapter elaborates the struggle between the gracefulness and popularity in terms of music, the graceful music and popular music coexist from the prre-Qin days to Tang Dynasty, but the special emphasis is placed on either of them with thetimes changing. However, viewed from the developing trend, the popular music intrudes into the internal part of the graceful music with unpreventable force and gradually takes the place of the graceful music. The interaction of music and literature promotes the boom of the literature of Music Bureau during Jianan period.
