The subject of human being and tiger was one kind of very important article style in Chinese bronzes. It was mainly popular from the final phase of the Shang Dynasty to the initial phase of the Xizhou Dynasty. The subject of human being and tiger was commonly been seem in the Shang Dynasty, at that time, this kind of article style frequently expressed strong religion connotation. But in the Xizhou Dynasty, the situation has been changed. The subject of human being and tiger was almost disappear in etiquette utensil, and it was often appeared in the arms and these utensils of horse drawn carriage of bronzes. And this dissertation exactly on the base of the dividedly studied the pattern, through revealed the course of its origin, development, decline and wither away, to point out that the article style had different connotations and symbolism in different historical phase and utensil. At last, basing on these research this dissertation hope to give a rational explanation to the bronzes of the subject of human being and tiger in the Shang Dynasty and the Xizhou Dynasty.
