On Hu Qiuyuan The Literary Concept Of Freedom

Hu Qiuyuan(1910-2004)was the outstanding liberalistic intelligentsia in the Chinese modern history of culture and thought. In the free debates on literature and art in the beginning of 1930s, he took the firm stand on the"free knowledge class"and put forward some literature categories, such as"the freedom of literature","free literature"and so on, and proposed the freedom the literature and art, in order to keep the freedom of literature and art and protect their respects and formed his point of view about the freedom of writing, which was nearly completed. Hu Qiuyuan's point of view of literature and art was one of the critical paths to explore the essence and the value of literature and art through the developmental history of the Chinese literary thoughts and it was the essential link of the modern liberalist literary trend of thoughts. For that reason, it is significant to reproduce the history with facts, restore the true colors of him and understand his view of the freedom of writing comprehensively and objectively for combing the developmental history of the Chinese literary thoughts.After entering the new era and the deep development of the ideological liberation, the way of studying Hu Qiuyuan changed greatly; people began to gave the thorough and objective judgment about him and his academic standpoint from different views.
