An Ji , who once styled himself Hui-Zhan, called himself as Gu-Qin or Shi Er Shan Ren, was born in Wu Xi, Jiang Su . He wrote many works in his lifetime. This thesis mainly researches one of his works LIU SHU YUN ZHENG, which is also called XIE SHENG YUN ZHENG and YUN ZHENG. He spent 20 years finishing it, from 1791 to 1812, and there were 16 volumes. But no one cared about it from MIN-GUO, so I hope to contribute to research into classical phonology of Qing dynasty.LIU SHU YUN ZHENG distinguished and proved ancient rhyme according to XIE-SHENG in SHUO WEN and rhyme in SHI JING. That is to say when you read SHUO WEN and SHI JING, you could know the relation of the ancient rhyme, so the book was called YUN ZHENG. It carved up ancient rhyme by using five sounds, GONG-SHANG-JIAQ-ZHI-YU, which was to be the radicals in Chinese characters. In fact, he compared the position of vowels and the end of rhyme with the finals of today: GONG-SHANG-JIAO-ZHI-YU. An Ji carved up 16 ancient rhyme according to GONG-BIAN GONG-SHANG-JIAO-ZHI-BIAN ZHI-YU, which were called GONG rhyme, BIAN GONG rhyme, SHANG rhyme, two JIAO rhymes, six ZHI rhymes, three BIAN ZHI rhymes, two YU rhymes.We can see the system of LIU SHU YUN ZHENG in the following table:(and the details are in the thesis)...
