Scripts of Eugene O'Neill, have the extremely rich esthetic value. The theme, the characteristic, dramatic form and so on, all have their unique aesthetic value. That is also the reason why O'Neill's play is popular always. To analyze unique aesthetic value of his plays, lies in the affirmation he took elucidation the tragedy as the life highest pursue, at the same time, also to extend the lofty respect to this literature great master. This article attempts to discuss the aesthetic value of O'Neill's play from following several parts:Foreword: After a simple review of the creation in O'Neill's whole life, the author points out the reason why his play is popular for such long time is its unique aesthetic value.First part: Analyze from O'Neill's tragic idea. Firstly starting from O'Neill individual experience and the society status at that time, making the analysis on how O'Neill tragic idea was being and the developed; then makes conclusion on O'Neill's tragic idea from his philosophy.Second part: Analyze from "relationship between human beings and God". Make analysis on the aesthetic value of the theme of O'Neill's play from the conflicts between human beings and Material God, between human beings and Puritanism God, between humans being and the Ego God.Third part: Analyze from"in a dilemma". Make analysis on aesthetic value of the character of O'Neill's play around the tragedy character in a dilemma and the seeking in heart of the playwright in a dilemma.Fourth part: Analyze from"language and image". Make analysis on the aesthetic value of dramatic form of O'Neill's play around three aspects: language of character, the stage cue and image of the play.Conclusion: Make conclusion on the structure of the article. Starting from O'Neill's tragic idea, take the theme of the play, character, and the form as the points of view, reaffirming the aesthetic value with great significance of O'Neill's play.
