Both Tibetan and Hui people in the Qing-Tibetan Plateau are neighboring ethnic groups. They have been keeping trade and economic interactions in history, which was academically called "Hui-Tibetan Trade". This special trade relationship dates back to the beginning of Ming Dynasty, and maintained its further development in both Qing Dynasty and Republic of China period. Based on Open and Reforms in recent two decades as well as the current fulfillment of Western development Strategy, it is showing the significant prospects.By the end of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, this kind of economic conformation, driven by foreign capitalism, had taken place a great change which never existed in the history. Its golden season was coming. Not only the former commerce network has resumed, but along with the Hui ethnic merchants flooded to Tibetan area, the new type commercial town which had sprouted in the forepart Qing Dynasty got more prosperous. Xining gradually became the most important central area of commodity and trade between Hui and Tibetan peoples. Furthermore, it is also the central commercial city in the east of Qinghai. At the same time, the new type temple-town of the trade between Hui and Tibetan nationalities, military-castle and its bazaar all appeared.
