The Border Trade Along Tumen River Between China And Korea In Qing Dynasty

Tumen River frontier trade in Qing Dynasty was the typical form in the history of the economic and trade exchanges between China and North Korea. It embodied the essence and characteristics of frontier trade between China and neighboring vassal countries. In this article, the Tumen River frontier trade between China and North Korea was divided three phases: the Li Dynasty and the predecessor of later Jin-Jurchen, Li Dynasty and later Jin, Li Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. The commodity of each stage was counted and researched. The development, causes and impact of frontier trade in different stage were organized particularly. Besides, the positive and negative impacts on Korea Dynasty and the impacts on Jurchen society and the development of Northeastern China region brought about by frontier trade were analyzed separately.This article consists of three parts: the introduction, the main body and the conclusion.The introduction part discussed the significance, academic trends, research methods and innovation of the topic.The main body consists of three chapters:The first chapter discussed the Tumen River frontier trade development process in Qing Dynasty. The main line of this chapter was the development of frontier trade between Li Dynasty and later Jin with its predecessor-Jurchen. Surrounding the main line, the source of frontier trade in Huining and Qingyuan around the Tumen River basin was sorted out.The second chapter mainly organized and researched the commodity of Tumen River frontier trade in Qing Dynasty. The main line of this chapter was the evolution of political relations between Li Dynasty and later Jin (Qing). The whole development process of frontier trade was analyzed through statistical study of commodity trade.The third chapter represented the impact of frontier trade on Li Korea Dynasty and the development of Northeastern China region. Tumen River frontier trade in Qing Dynasty lasted for two hundred years. This chapter analyzed the impact of frontier trade on the bilateral politics, economy and culture.Conclusion mainly summarized and summed up the Tumen River frontier trade on the basis of researching above issues. Though this, the meaning of frontier trade in existence was further revealed under the order of"Center of the world is China".
