Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin (1872—1915) is an outstanding Russian composer and pianist at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of 20th century. Owning a broad genres and a unique style on musical creation, he has composed 26 etudes and made them run through his life, which on the hand reflects the changeful trail of his musical style. It is found that these etudes not only possess a stronger musical feature, but also develops into new technical subjects. This thesis discusses the different styles and various characteristics of Scriabin's etudes appeared in his different life stages, and then it emphatically analyzes several significant technical subjects and their playing methods of his etudes. The main contents include the melody, the texture and the linear process in playing, the colour of harmony and key-on changes in playing, the playing methods of intervals and chords, the up and down resonance in cross rhythms and playing, and the pedal etc. It is concluded that this thesis would have an instructive and helpful significance to those who are going to learn the musical style and basic playing methods of Scriabin's etudes.
