Self-Esteem, as one of the most important parts of self-system, its development has a very important influence on individual's whole personality. And at the same time, as the media, self-esteem also has a very important influence on the university students' cognition, motive, affection, morality and social behavior. Self-esteem is one of the important indexes of mental health, and it can protect mental health at the mean while.Self-esteem can be categorized as high level and low level, and the low level self-esteem works with many different factors .And so the objective of this paper is to find out the self-esteem state of Yunnan university students, and to improve the university students' self-esteem level by group mental counseling. To attain these goals, this paper is divided into two parts: Research One and Research Two.In order to figure out Yunnan university students' self-esteem state, to explore the correlation between self-esteem and its influence factors and to offer the theoretic warrant for further research, Research One has the students of 13 colleges in Yunnan Province as subjects, who were investigated by using the Self-Esteem Scale Attribution to Achievement and Failure ,the Ways of Coping Checklist-Revised ,Social Support Scale and Adolescent Self-Relating Life Events Check List. Then the correlation between them is explored.The conclusion of this part shows as following: (1)The self-esteem level of most Yunnan college students is high;(2)Remarkable difference exists in self-esteem level between different diplomas, different School types, Grade;.(3) Remarkable difference exists in self-esteem level between male and female, male's self-esteem level is higher than that of female evidently.(4)Single-one children's self-esteem level is higher than that of others, the self-esteem level of students from capital cities is higher than that of others, the student cadres' self-esteem level is higher than that of those who are not cadres evidently; (5)No remarkable difference exists in self-esteem level between different majors; (6) Self-Esteem is negative related with active coping style, social support and ability and effort attribution; and it is positive related with passive coping style, chance and difficulty...
