Before modern history ,Yangshupu was in the wild Huangpu river alone. Since Shanghai was open as a port in 1843 , the fine surroundings was gradually known by people and then many companies at home and abroad competited here. They made factories and developed industry .In short period , the area of Yangshupu became an important industrial basement and played an important role in the industrialization and urbanization of Shanghai .First of all, the construction of modern facilities, such as water, electricity and traffic and the perfection of municipality facilities brought continual support of power and external conditions .Secondly, the quick development of modern industry Yangshupu mirrored the exent of modern industrialization of Shanghai .With the development of facilities and industry , many immigrants entered Shanghai and Yangshupu, which provided rich manpower resource. Thirdly, in the drive of industry and population , the commerce of mo.dern Yangshupu developed too. Finally, the amusement and culture of people changed , and then promoted the development of industrialization and urbanization.The aim of this article is to analyze and study the development and trait of modern Yangshupu , to know the role of the area of Yangshupu in process of the industrialization and urbanization .
