There were many vague or distorted personages in the history of art itself and art education of the 20th century in China. Pan YuLiang, as one of the first generation that the famous painters who study paintings in the west, normally should not be neglected, for she played an important part in the modern art history of China. She lives in France about 40 years persevering for art all her life and she insist on "blend Chinese and Western paintings in one"at all times. She gained great achievement by dissolve the style of Chinese paintings into the western oil paintings and vice versa. Unfortunately, the literature and data sometimes research started with her living of whorehouse that should not be over - romanced, which made the character and her works vague and known to few people.The dissertation inquires into a single person—Pan YuLiang. The author is mainly with the following issues: firstly, Pan's body - painting works, as important tangible evidences and image documents, are the focal points of the research. The author intends to firstly analyses the reason why was she painting so much body -painting works. Secondly, by dividing Pan's works into four periods from the angle of the style transformations, the author intends to understand better the style, the transformations as well as internal basis and external influences by contrasting some other characters and records with the historical materials of the contemporaries France modern art trend of thought.The author expects to fill the incomplete phase of history, to make clear a vague character and excellent art works, which will enrich the history of fine arts and aesthetic education, and will be conductive to the improvement of relevant academic standards.
