The poems about Double Ninth Festival in Tang Dynasty is the result that traditions and literature interacted each other, which embodies the long history of our national culture as well as the special spirits of Tang Dynasty. This paper makes every effort to use a wider angel to make a comprehensive study of the cultural meanings of the Double Ninth Festival customs, the national psychology and the poets' creating psychology and the work image, putting them into big range of intellectual history and cultual history to study them and explore the essential meaning and deep connotation.This paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter introduces the origin and development of Double Ninth Festival and then compare and analyze the poems of before and after Tang Dynasty and summarize several reasons of the flourishing poems in Tang Dynasty. The second chapter is the detailed account, the author first analyzes the poets' action chain: climbing-observing-creating poems-expressing feelings and then using an psychological analysis giving a detailed accouts of the complex of homesickness and life consciousness reflected in these poems. The last chapter explores the art of poems and analyze the various symbolism of the chrysanthem images and humanity connocations of these poems and summarizes the usual expressing methods of the poems about Double Ninth Festival in Tang Dynasty.
