As the result of Chinese way of thinking, bei-sentence embodies grammatical diversity in different text styles through its different functional distribution. As the legislative style is one of the typical official document styles, the thorough study of it will facilitate the stylistics development.Starting with micro-research analyzing from the respective of grammar and utilizing the corpora of the Chinese linguistics research center in Peking University and the library corpus in Fu Dan University. This paper gives a relatively detailed description and statistics about the bei-sentence with or without agent and patient, the distribution of such sentence forms as "bei...suo" and "bei...gei" (in Chinese pinyin), and the distribution of the semantic color of satisfaction or dissatisfaction in legislative style, and it also makes a comparison with their distribution in literary style, political comment style and science and technology style. From the respective of both internal and external context, this paper interprets the adaptability of different structural form and semantic color of bei-sentence to legislative style.Meanwhile some ideas are added to the discussion of bei-sentence made by Mr. Wang Li and Mr. Hu Yushu as complements. This paper holds that:First, in legislative style, literary style and political comment style, bei-sentence mainly manifests dissatisfactory color, while in science and technology styles, bei-sentence mainly shows satisfactory color.Second, agentless bei-sentence is the typical form of bei-sentence.
