Da hui temple located at Da hui temple road of Hai dian Distract of Bei jing . The temple was built in Zheng de period of Ming dynasty. 1513 A. D. At present , the study on the painted clay statues of Da hui temple is very limited . the main reason is that most of historians of sculpture art realized that the sculpture of Ming dynasty artistic value is reduced too much . Under the stuation , to the study of painted clay statues of Ming dynasty is often ignored. But Chinese Buddhism art is distinguished from common art , especially as foreign art , it has itself unique art developing low.In initial spreading period, Chinese Buddhism Art was deeply influenced by the Buddhism which had formed an integrated system spread into china eastward along the Silk Road from the western region (xi yu). It mostly remain the style of ancient India. In the developing stage, the Buddhism art in the state of absorbing, merger, transformation and innovation, full of vitality. For example, the emergence of the " si jia style". But this phenomenon just expressed the unstable of Chinese Buddhism art . It was not until Ming dynasty that the Chinese Buddhism art really entered the stable period.The painted clay statues of Da hui temple of Ming dynasty are the distinguished representatives in the stable period . The article analysed its features and the resource of its style from the two factors both art and technique in order to explain its important status in sculpture art history.So we should relocated for the status of painted clay statues of Ming dynasty, from multi—angles that art, religion art and history ,while only from the angle of art .
