There exists a lexical phenomenon in Chinese that the words containing "human-related" morphemes are used to refer to "things" with the metaphorical meaning. This paper names this as human-prototype denomination. This type of denomination is a coverall lexical system in wide use, as far as the referenced content is concerned. According to the style, the lexical system is hierarchical to some degree vulgarly or elegantly. This paper puts forward the definition of the lexical phenomenon for the first time, distinguishing from other common terms denomination, by macroscopical explanation through analysis of its representative form, linguistic significance, culture connotation and features. The paper analyses the emergence of the lexical phenomenon from two perspectives: one from the metaphorical perspective, is the forming of the result of mapping from source domain, "human" to target domain "thing"; the other from traditional cultural connotation; and the third from naming perspective, by a survey of naming characteristics and ways of the type of words. In the view of pragmatic psychology and aesthetic functions, etc. it gives the prospects of vitality in the way of practical application.Taking an interdisciplinary approach of lexics, cognitive linguistic and cultural linguistics, and trying to combine the dynamic studies with the static studies, this thesis makes a reasonable estimation by description and explanation.
