Teaching method is a part of the whole teaching system. It has very close relations with teaching aim and teaching content, etc. Teaching aim decides the choice of teaching method and teaching content limits teaching method, and on the other hand, teaching method has a great effect on teaching content. The specialty of computer-aided art design is newly born, and so in the process of pursuing the greatest effectiveness from teaching exploration of teaching method becomes very important. At present the traditional teaching method blocks to some extent the proper development of this specialty and does not benefit the cultivation of overall qualities and professional qualities of students.Under new conditions of vocational education it is the main task of the specialty of computer-aided art design to cultivate students mastering skills of computer operations and art design. In order to make the teaching of this specialty in secondary vocational school meet the need of the workforce market this article analyses the disadvantages of traditional teaching according to the educational aim of secondary vocational school, and discusses the reasons why task-centered teaching is necessary to be introduced into the teaching of secondary vocational school, and summarizes the positive effects of task-centered teaching in improving students' overall qualities and professional qualities.
