It is well known that the important result which study on ancient Chinese grammar has achieved is empty word. But study on substantive is relatively lagged. This is because knowledge of people of Chinese before Qin Dynasty (先秦汉语)substantive is still in the stage of perceptual knowledge. First, people haven't seen about ancient Chinese historically, roundly, within the limits. Second, until today, we are still applying the grammar of Aryan on Chinese grammar. Under the circumstances, talking such the problems as Huoyong and Jianlei is not appropriate.Author believed that there are not the phenomena of Huoyong of part of speech in the single syllable adjective of ancient Chinese. It is result that pursuers applied the grammar of Aryan on Chinese and is not for the objective fact.Author saw about Laozi, Lunyu and Mengzi, and found that there is not Jianlei. There is Jianlei in minority single syllable adjective. Mr HuangBorong believed that Jianlei is minority in homogeneous words, or it is not clear in assorts.Since adjective is important composition of substantive, it is necessary to study on grammar characteristics of adjective. The writer browsed more 10 texts of ancient Chinese and discovered that experts didn't generalize the characteristics of adjective .The writer studied all syntax function of all single syllable adjective in Laozi,Lunyu ,Memgzi, and generalized its grammar characteristics with which author compared adjective grammar characteristics which author compared adjective grammar characteristics of modern Chinese. We can conclude that the important characteristics of adjective about Chinese before Qin Dynasty (先秦汉语) are single syllable adjective can act as object and adjective does not act as verb but can connect object, single syllable can act as predicate, and attricate.
