This thesis studies the Polysyllable words in the famous agronomy work of "Qimin Yaoshu" which was finished between A.D. 530s-A.D. 540s. On the foundation of the careful description and the comprehensive analysis from their semantics and the ways of structure, it compares longitudinally and crosswise the Polysyllable words in "Qimin Yaoshu" with in the representative works before this and the modern Chinese, approximately outlining the characteristics of the Polysyllable words in "Qimin Yaoshu". Now, its content summary of each chapter of this thesis as follows:Chapter one mainly explains the research objects, the research bases, the research significances, the research present situation, the research methods and the correlation theory about this thesis. Since how differences the word from the phrase is one of hot topics which the language educational world discusses, and it is also one of unresolved academic topics. Therefore, distinguish the word from the phrase is a question which has to firstly be solved. Moreover, because the language educational world has different opinions to the classification of word structure, this directly affects the arrangements of the minute chapters. Therefore, in this chapter, it makes the suitable explanation to the question of chapter arrangement.Chapter Two mainly analyzes the pian zheng shi polysyllable words from their semantics and structures, attempting to analyze the ways of structure in the plan zheng shi polysyllable words and their semantic characteristics, and in order to inquire into language rules, we compare them with the modern Chinese.Chapter Three analyzes the bing lie shi polysyllable words also from their semantics, structures and character order. In order to analyze the ways of structure and semantic characteristics in the bing lie shi polysyllable words, we compare them in "Qimin Yaoshu " with the related polysyllable words in the representative monographs in spoken language and in the modern Chinese, inquiring into the rules of the language development and evolution.Chapter Four mainly analyzes the bu chong shi polysyllable words , the zhu wei shi polysyllable words and the dong bin shi polysyllable words, from the perspectives of their semantic and the ways of structure. In the base of analysis, we summary the characteristics of bu chong shi polysyllable words, the zhu wei shi polysyllable words and the dong bin shi polysyllable words in the Dynasties of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern. And we compare them with the correlation polysyllable words in the representative monographs in spoken language and in the modern Chinese, in order to achieve the comparison between the ancient Chinese and the modern Chinese.Chapter Five mainly describes and analyzes the fu jia shi polysyllable words, the chong die shi polysyllable words, the pure polysyllable words and the comprehensive polysyllable words. On the basis of careful and comprehensive description, we summary their various characteristics.Chapter Six carries on the comprehensive summary elaboration to the front article. From the perspectives of lengthways and transverse, making their structure, semantics characteristics appeared.
