Higher Vocational Art And Design Education Research

Higher vocational education is the major and significant ingredient of higher vocational education system and vocational education system. With the steady deepening of the policies of opening and reforming and economic development, higher vocational education gets unprecedented expansion. Approximately, eighty percent of all the higher vocational education colleges and institutes offer artistic design specialties. The fundamental mission of the higher vocational education is to cultivate the high-tec application talents, meeting the needs of production, construction, management and service. The educational system and cultivating plans give prominence to the acquisition of technology application capacities to fit in with the social demands. The basic approaches to cultivate the technology talents are connection of production and studying, and cooperation of institutes and enterprises. The essence of this talent-cultivating model has been acknowledged and appreciated. However, the studies on the higher vocational artistic design education are few, although there are too many researches about the higher vocational education.This paper lays emphasis on the vocational education ideology of Huang Yanpei, the pioneer of the vocational education in China, the evolution of the higher vocational artistic design education, the vocational education idea of Bauhaus, and the current situation and insufficiencies of the higher vocational artistic design education, analyzing the reforming and constructing of education system focusing on the vocational application capacities. All that have been researched in this paper should be beneficial to the overall and systematic understanding and further research of the higher vocational artistic design education.
