North Korean Nuclear Issue And The New Era Chinese Diplomacy

By the end of twenty century North Korea, the neighbor country of China, hasbroken out nuclear crisis twice. Soon nuclear issue in North Korea became thesensitive topic concerned by the international societies. Once again those developedcountries in the world focused their political attention on the area safety problem innortheast Asia. China, as the largest country in the east Asia, has formed close tie andfriendly relationship with North Korea. It's no doubt that the diplomatic policy whichChina has taken towards North Korea became the essential part. At the same time, withthe development of China's economy, the diplomatic policy of China has become moreand more reasonable and mature. Especially during the procession to settle nuclearissue in North Korea China not only indicates its wisdom and encouragement but alsoshows its diplomatic direction in the future.This thesis aimed to research the diplomatic strategy which China has taken in theprocess to solve nuclear problem in North Korea. Accordingly to reveal theachievement and affection that China's diplomacy effected to the world. We have alsoresearched the growing process of China's diplomacy and highlighted China'sdiplomatic direction in new stage.There are three parts in this thesis. They are prolusion, body and conclusion.Prolusion, we mainly discussed the purpose of this thesis and its significance,research circumstance and research methods.There are also three Chapters in the Body part.In ChapterⅠ, we mainly discussed the reason of nuclear issue in North Korea andthe process of the twice nuclear crisis in North Korea. And we also analyzed theaffection brought by nuclear crisis in North Korea to the world, especially to China.In ChapterⅡ, we mainly discussed the standpoint and diplomatic policy whichChina has taken towards nuclear crisis in N6rth Korea. When the nuclear crisis inNorth Korea broke out in 1992, Chinese government adjusted its diplomatic policymany times. From "the spectator" to "step in moderately" to "an active participant".Chinese government has taken many kinds of diplomatic strategy to improve activelythe nuclear issue in North Korea.In ChapterⅢ, we mainly discussed the process of new China's diplomaticdevelopment. We have highlighted China's diplomatic direction in new stage byanalyzing the diplomatic policy towards the nuclear issue in North Korea. Conclusion, we mainly summarized the front article, and has made the forecast toChina's diplomatic in the future.
