The social demand is the premise of garment teaching profession in the university, its final goal is for the industrial development. The garment belongs to designing category for applications, and has dual characteristics of the cultural artistry and the functionality. Its value may be of matter, also may be of spirit, the culture and art can be transformed to technology by garment designing. Therefore, the garment is a product which can make technology sublimed, and is a bridge connecting the culture and technology, which can not be separated at all. The multiplicate development of modem garment industry makes new requirements for the teaching of garment profession. We must pay great attention not only to the standard of teaching, but also to the flexibility of teaching. We should pay attention to the training for talented persons with scientific background, but can not neglect the training for industrial knowledge. Therefore, a balance needs to build up between the requirement of garment industry and the teaching. Based on the background and present situation of garment teaching of our country, the garment education system should be analyzed to obtain a good strategy. How to develop the persons for the garment profession is a key point to improve the garment education systems. To transport the talented persons for the development of market economy, the garment education need adapt to the demand of market economy, and the traditional education model should be reformed, and the cultural artistry should be combined with practice.The education of garment profession of the universities is the objective demand of social and economical developments. In the process of garment teaching, the garment education system should be analyzed to obtain a good strategy, and the concrete implementation means and condition of curriculum structure is proposed. Students should have the abilities to resolve professional problems and deal with market message and popular garment information, and also have the developing potential in the enterprise reform, and build up the professional ability for sustainable development.The professional education of garment should involve the garment profession and industry, and surmounted their inherent patterns, which means the actual maturity. The professional education of garment is the basis of the development of garment industry. The problem faced by the students after graduation deserves to be considered by teachers for garment profession. The future garment profession education is based on the market. The professional theory and practical research must be connected to current garment industry. The teaching method, mode and technique require to be reformed. A complete and flexible teaching system should be established in the training target, curriculum structure and teaching methods. We should know about what the market needs, and explore a point where the teaching of garment profession and the market are connected closely. We should accumulate rich experience for professional teaching, and provide more opportunity and space with the students, and make more persons become talented garment designers.The greatest problem faced in the operation of the teaching of garment profession is that we have not build up a scientific and complete teaching system combined with the practice. Therefore, it is very necessary to make a connection between the theory and practice and establish a scientific and complete teaching system.
