| In recent years, more studies happened about Li Yu and his works in academic circles. But we found that it's fewer about novel creation than discussing the drama theory and creation achievement, and the fewest inquiring into the relationship between the drama theory and the novel creation. This thesis tries to talk about the way of Li Yu's drama theory combined with his novel creation from their influence each other in order to display his art timber as a narrative theorist and lay his position on ancient narrative theory history and popular literature history.This thesis consists of the introduction and three chapters. The introduction mainly deals with two reasons why I choose this topic, and the relationship of Leisure Mood Expressed by Chance and"silent drama". It also illustrates and researches the basic meaning of"silent drama". I think the similarity between Li Yu's traditional opera and his novels is pursuing"drama", which is also the same aesthetic pursuit of the two sorts of his works.In the chapters, we probe into the application of Li Yu's opera theory in the creation of novel, and clearly analyse the influence each other. We talk about the point of changing from bent to drama and the meaning of his novels to dramatize. Li Yu's peculiar theory of novel writing, respectively from the following five respects:"the single hero and one plot in the drama","fictional serial dramas","original and unique conception","various endings","plain language". The chapters make it more clear for us to apprehend the application of operas in Li Yu's novels and his understanding of the internal relation between operas and novels, by giving facts of Li Yu's practice in rewriting his novels into operas. |
