In Chinese society nowadays, the 1990s was a special period to bear in mind, which was a multiple valued "individual times", with the emergence of the market economy, the transformation of the society and the appearance of the new-generation writers. In this special historical and cultural period, the "rupture" affair launched by Han Dong and Zhu Wen hit a hot spot. The "rupture" affair as an incident has ended, but the question raised by the hidden or dominant or varied ways survives until today, leaving plenty of room for our thinking and exploration. It can be said that, the "rupture" affair is a collectively "discourse" revelry of the new-generation writers. The controversy which triggered by the affair is very meaningful, exposes many problems which is urgent to be solved in the current literature or art critics and reflects the complicated spiritual and cultural status of the intellectuals in the turn of the century. At the same time, the "rupture" affair resorted to the practice. As the inevitable result, the literary emerges new trends, mainly reflected on the literary practice of the "rupture" writers and some new-generation writers that emerge after the "rupture" affair. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the "rupture" affair and the creative practice after the "rupture" affair, and show the culture mentality of the new-generation writers.Based on the above understanding, this paper in the first chapter put the "rupture" affair in the 1990s literary scene, focus on the transition period of the end of the century, and wholly inspect the historical and cultural background of the "rupture" affair and the rise of the new-generation writers to demonstrate the possibility and reasonableness of their existence. In the second chapter, based on this background, we explore the inevitability of the emergence of the new-generation writers, debate and reflect the "rupture" affair itself which initiated by the representatives of the new-generation writers and also the chain reactions caused by the affair, and multi-angled sort out the incident which is really far from being the settlement and end. Then, the third chapter ,from the theory to the specific literary practice, with Han Dong and Zhu Wen this two representatives of the new-generation writers as a typical case study, through the deeply reading and analysis of the literary text before and after the "rupture" affair, and placing with the so-called classical writing in a comparative perspective, we explore correspondence between the theory and practice in their literature, and reveal the unique spirit and art advocacy of the "rupture" writers. The final chapter, focusing on the new-generation writers in contemporary literary, we make relevant explanation of the new trend emerged in their works after the "rupture" affair from the day-to-day description, the individual whisper and the carnal desires, outline the "breakout" gesture of the new-generation writers, and then provide some meaningful thought for the study about them.
