Whether BuDa is a degree adverb or not is a controversial issue in linguistic circle, a definite knowledge of the process and motivation of the lexicalization of BuDa is still lacking . This paper counts up the number of the language data about BuDa, and makes an in-depth analysis. Then, It describes the grammatical function of BuDa in modern Chinese and gives the dynamic tracks of BuDa in Chinese language history. Finally, It comes to the conclusion that BuDa has been used as a degree adverb during Middle and Late Ming Dynasty. What's more, We try to explain the lexicalization of BuDa in terms of prosodic,cognition,semantic system and rhetoric, and we think the lexicalization of BuDa has some objective inevitability.
