With the development of globalization and internationalization, diversification has become an unstoppable and unchangeable tendency. In the field of music schooling, more and more educators and researchers pay close attention to the following phenomena: multicultural music schooling, multiple musical cultures and global music. The themes of several conferences held by International Music Schooling Association are closely related to the new trend and phenomena. Multicultural music schooling develops differently in different countries: in some developed countries, it has succeeded greatly; while in some developing countries, the exploration and practice of multicultural music schooling is still proceeding. With regard to China, it belongs to the latter. In China, the reform on fundamental music schooling is being carried out and taken seriously. Thus, in some music academies and teachers' colleges, such courses as musical cultures and global music have been offered.On the grounds of the tendency mentioned above, the author conducted the study. In this paper, the author focused on the course Music Appreciation, which is a main required course for musical majors in high education in China. The paper stated and analyzed the current situation on the teaching of the course Music Appreciation, and concluded the drawbacks on the teaching of the course——limited teaching contents and its unsuitability for the current education reform. The author brief the current situation on multicultural music schooling at home and abroad, the development and current situation on multiple music cultures in China, and the application of multiple music cultures in fundamental education reform. In regard to the topic "discussion about merging multiple music culture into the course Music Appreciation in music schooling of common colleges", the paper analyzed and detailed from different aspects, including its notion and contents on esthetics, diversification and culture, the analyses on its evaluation means and evaluation system, and the necessary support and supply on textbooks and teachers.All in all, the three-chapter paper focused on the topic "Merging multiple music culture into the course Music Appreciation in music schooling in common colleges" and intended to state the current tendency and situation, analyze the drawbacks and suggest some effective measures.
