Living in the small global village, we should face to the topic of themulticultural music. Under the present international conditions of multiculturalmusic,the single education of the western music and the system of musicology havebeen questioned by Chinese music educators.Then the primary goal of our musicaleducation have changed,that is,to develop the multicultural music education,tocultivate the national multicultural spirit and consciousness.With the development ofmulticultural music education of music teacher education major in Normal Collegesand Universities,it becomes a pioneer in force of the reform. Then improving themusic teachers’ education, training the teachers with qualities and abilities ofmulticultural music for the future is be required by circumstances.At first,with combination of qualified and quantization study,I research thecourses of music teacher education major from three colleges in Henan,that is basedon the theoretical researches of the multicultural education,anthropology of music,postmodern music education philosophy. Recording to the analysis, the curriculum ofmusic education is still as the western music as its main content,appears a small partof the Hans ’ folk music, forming" national additional" music education curriculummode.This mode doesn’t reflect the fact of multicultural music education.In otherway,I make a questionnaire on the students to research their attitudes of the worldmusic curriculum, multicultural music education, cognition, learning gains andproblems and other aspects.At the same time,I statistics the concerts and the lecturesabout the multicultural music.The result shows that,to a certain extent,the worldmusic course could improve the multicultural music sensitivity and judgement ofstudents.But compared with the achievements,we should pay more attention on theproblems of these collages and universities in the education of multiculturalmusic.These problems include: students’ multicultural music education attitudes arenot clear; the multicultural music education is still a lack of cognitive ability; theteaching mode is single; the arrangement of multicultural music education hiddencurriculum is not reasonable; the capital investment is not balanced; the teachingmaterials and the relative audio-visual materials are short.In view of the above,aseries of reflection and improvement of music teacher education is expressed inbelow: improve the music teachers’ cognitive abilities of multicultural musiceducation; construct the curriculum system of multicultural music education;use the" difference teaching" and" participation" teaching method; study the world music bythe" music culture" cognitive model; understand and use the method of musicanthropology connotation; rich multicultural music education resources.
