Adolescents Virtual Self And The Relationship Between Personality And Internet Use

With the development of internet technology,adolescents become one of the most important parts of internet users.They are in an important period of development,their's self control are poor,and they don't have steady self conception,so excessively and impertinently internet use has great influence on adolescents' study and life.In this study,four hundred students were asked to answer questionnaires.The relation among personality,virtual self and internet use for adolescents was identified by using Adolescent Viurtual Self / Actual Self Discrepancy Scale,Adolescent Real Me Scale,Chinese Adolescent Personality Scale and Adolescent Pathological Internet Use.The results indicated that:(1) Adolescents' virtual self was different from actual self;(2) Virtual self could positively predict pathological internet use;(3) Goodness could predict pathological and virtual self negatively,and it also could predict pathological through virtual self;(4) Chushitaidu could negatively predict pathological internet use and virtual,and it also could predict predict pathological through virtual self;(5) Talent could predict pathological internet use through virtual self,and it could prevent pathological internet use;(6) Emotionality could predict pathological internet use through virtual self,and it could prevent pathological internet use.
