"long March Suite" Music Creation Nationalization

As a vocal suite characterized by distinctive Chinese ethnic groups'style, Suite of Songs on the Long March has been widely known for a long time in China. However, there is less research on the work's ethnic styled composing techniques. With the fruits of these techniques used in Suite of Songs on the Long March as the research aim, my thesis had the function of reference to the musical composing and theory research of People's Liberation Army of China. Through analyzing the composition, I had a deep discussion about how the ethnic musical language of Suite of Songs on the Long March was figured out from the musical themes, the relations among the themes'materials and the musical structure. To conclude, the composers of Suite of Songs on the Long March absorbed and studied Chinese folk musical materials carefully, and then figured out the vivid musical images. By expressing the history, the work praised the great spirit of the Long March. And its feather of the ethnic styled composing was an outstanding crystal in PLA's music.
