Stereotype of college students from city and countryside is a cognitive structure concerning percipients' knowledge, attitude and anticipation towards the college students who come from city and countryside. This dissertation, taking the college students from city and countryside as subjects, used multiple measuring tools to investigate the existence, the inter-out group effect, the automatization and its behavioral effect of the college students' stereotype, which had seldom been conducted by researchers home and abroad. The dissertation consists of three parts.Experiment 1 used IAT as the measuring tool to investigate the existence and the implicit effect of inter-out group Favoritism of the stereotype. The result indicated the existence of the implicit effect of stereotype and inter-out group favoritism:the city group showed the inter-group preference while the countryside group the out-group preference.Experiment 2 used priming method to activate the subjects' stereotype of the college students from city and countryside. The result showed that the subjects' stereotype,to a great degree,is an automated response to outer stimulation. Therefore, the stereotype had a priming effect.Experiment 3 inquisted the behavior effect of the activation of the countryside students' stereotype, which indicated a contrast effect responding to a negative stereotype activation.
