Network Language Situation And Development Trend Analysis

The Internet emerged during the end of the last century and since then its development has last for 20 years. The language of network has changed from the embryonic stage at the beginning to the thriving scene today. The language of network not only represents the direction of the development of language during the 21st century, but also arouses the wide attention from experts and scholars. The study of the language of network has gradually developed from the attempt of exploration to the overall topic which has multi-direction and multi-angle.This thesis summarizes the uniqueness of the language of network based on its characteristics of visualization and conciseness and so on. And it gives us a detailed analysis of the characteristics of voice, vocabulary and grammar according to the emergence of the new words in our society today and the word formation influenced by the foreign words, such as English, Japanese and so on. We can conclude three points: first, the language of network can be divided into the readable language of network and the unreadable language of network as two parts on the aspect of voice; second, the language of network has new and distinct characteristics with reference to the word formation, the sources of word formation and the feature of word formation on the aspect of vocabulary; third, the diversification of the adverb of degree developed as a trend by using the expression of the foreign languages such as English and Japanese on the aspect of grammar. In addition, because of the different medias, the different context, the different factors such as the age, the level and the interest of users, the grammar of the language of network provides a confusion in grammar, for example, some newly formed network words had only one part of speech at the beginning and gradually led to the other part of speech in usage in the subsequent process of application. More and more new network words appear in the same way.Combining the deep analysis of the formation and development of the language of network and the development trend of Internet and the ability to create of the net citizen, we can predict that more foreign language vocabulary and terminology will appear in the language of network and they will exert more deeply influence on spoken language and the everyday language. And any media event on internet or in the reality may cause or trigger the formation of a series of the new vocabulary and grammar.
