The cultures elements should be combined with the language studying in the foreign language teaching because of the special relation between language and culture. It's the same with the TCFL ( Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language )as it belongs to the second language teaching. Only under the condition of combining the language and the culture, which means culture is input in the practical teaching, we can help the foreign students to solve the obstacles brought by the Culture Shock. Only under such condition, the foreign students can understand and accept Chinese successfully and can master and practice Chinese skillfully, which means we achieve the good results in our Chinese teaching.But unfortunely, until now we still need deep researches on some basic questions of culture teaching in the TCFL not only on theory but also on practice. On the bases of the former theories and thoughts, this thesis is to give it's own conception and limitation of the"culture elements"in the TCFL and to distinguish some confusing concepts. At the same time, it is to discuss the reasonable contents of the"culture elements"through combining some popular materials of Chinese teaching and points out the existing disadvantages in the textbooks. Furthermore, it is to suggest some methods of teaching"culture elements"in the Chinese classes and emphasize the important roles the Chinese teachers play on class.
