To learn a language cannot avoid to learning the culture of this language. Under thebackground of "Chinese Enthusiasm" in modern times, teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage develops to a higher standard. Therefore, culture teaching in TCFL becomessignificant because of its close contact with the wide spread of Chinese culture. Since the1980’s, research on teaching Chinese culture to foreigners has attracted much attention.Although it has not sprung up and developed for a long time, the research achievements arecomparatively abundant.This thesis combines the research achievements in this field with the author’s teachingpractice, on the basis of the analysis of the four sets of common spoken Chinese textbooks—"Short-term Spoken Chinese","Magic Chinese","Conversational Chinese301","Developing Chinese". The thesis completes systematic analysis of Chinese cultural factorsshown or implied in the textbooks, and presents these factors in tabular form, from thesefour aspects: the selection of conversation content, functional items in the languageteaching materials, Chinese cultural factors involved in the textbooks and concreteexamples of the factors; analyzes the cultural items sorted out, finds out the difference ofthe cultural projects which appear in the textbooks for different standards, and tries tosummarize the characteristics of how to present these Chinese cultural items in thetextbooks. Secondly, according to the content of the chosen textbooks, this thesis makes apreliminary discussion on the presentation of Chinese culture, and puts forward theprinciples of leading Chinese culture in oral Chinese Classes. In addition, as the culturalfactors in TCFL have been continuously strengthened, the requirements for the teachersalso improve. Teachers should have the Chinese cultural knowledge and some teaching skills. This thesis summarizes the problem on the basis of the standards for foreignlanguage teachers made by Hanban.
