The so-called eastern lliards the great Gesar epic, is the essence of Tibetans' wisdom and its culture. It is also regarded as the orientation of masterpieces all over the world. It contains Tibetan ideology, religion belief, ethical morality and cultural life of Tibetans, which is considered to be the encyclepedia for Tibetans by all specialists. Therefore only if we do researches about it with our all attention, can we retrospect the history of our culture, moreover it shows the circumstances of today and for the future. As we all know, Tibet is a ethnicity with a rich and prosperous of its own ethinical morality and through all history, it's shaped its own characteristic ethinical morality.With based on looking at a great many materials in both Tibetan and Chinese, guiding by the theory of materialism and dialectical materialism, comparing those accomplishments by old-specialists, intergrating the theory of Anthropology, Sociology, Ethics and Folklore with the method of synthesizing research, combining the materials research and field work, i attempted to study and analyse the ethical ideology reflected from the Great Gesar epic in several aspects and it's consisted of six chapters.The first and preface chapter is divided into two sections; introduce purposes and neccesities of this paper and the methods of reseach, accomplishments of old-specialists in researching Gesar epic and its ethical ideology, furthermore to introduce some materials about Gesar epic.The second chapter is divided into two sections; explaination and analyization for ethics and morality and also to discuss the history of Tibetan ethical ideology, impacts from natural environment, social phenomeno, religion belief and surrounding ethnicities for the ethical ideology of Gesar epic.The third chapter is divided into three sections mainly focusing on the family ethical ideology; first section is to discuss social status and social responsibilities of paternal lineage, second section is to discuss the social status and social responsibilities of maternal lineage, and third section is to discuss the social status and social responsibilities of siblings.The fourth chapter is divided into five sections focusing on the ethical ideology in society; social status and social responsibilities of ethical ideology related to emperors, citizens, Buddhists(Lamas and monks)friends and prisoners.The fifth chapter is divided into three sections focusing on the impacts over Tibetan culture from the ethical morality of Gesar epic; first section is to discuss the impacts over Tibetans' personality, second section is to discuss the impacts over Tibetan ethical ideology of literature, third section is to discuss the impacts over Tibetan social contacts.The sixth chapter is divided into three chapters and it is the summary for this paper; first section is to discuss the social value of Gesar epic, second section is to discuss the cultural value of Gesar epic and last section is to discuss the relation of pros and cons between ethical ideology and the Tibetan culture.In conclusion, depending on the research and analyzation of ethical ideology from Gesar epic, it not only apparently embodies the development of ethical ideology of Tibetan ancestors, religion belief, marriage ceremony and battles between tribes, but it also shows altruistic heart and hard-working character of Tibetan people.
