After the beginning of foundation in new China,In order to meet the the requirement that arts should reflect real life and serve for workers,peasants and soldiers,flower-and-bird painters try to work hard for searching for the ways of flower-and-bird painting serving for politics in order to live and develop by themselves.Guo Weiqu is one of such flower-and-bird painters.At the binning of 50s.Pressed on conservatism and nihilism,studying deeply Chinese traditional painting and history,exploring the practice of painting,directed by Marxism-Leningism and materialism,he has come to understand and realize the development of painting,that is,cognition theory of painting,based on the core of "weed through the old to bring forth the new".Guo Weiqu not only carried out his painting practice influenced by the ideas of "weed through the old to bring forth the new",but also constructed this regular recognition in his teaching of flower-and-bird paintings,so that he forms his own teaching system of flower-and-bird painting and cultivate a lot of backbone artists in today's China.This paper tries to analyze and describe the formation process and the main idea of cognition theory of painting,which is based on the core of "weed through the old to bring forth the new",and also further analyzes the outline designing and the characteristic of the practice teaching of the flower-and-bird painting.carrying out the theory of "weed through the old to bring forth the new".Based on the theory and experience of the painting,we also make a lot of reflections and try to research on the history of painting education,along with the a deepened perception of education and could provide a mirror for the development and innovation of Chinese painting education in the 21th century.
