In studying the language of The Secret History of Mongols, the thesis concentrates on analyzing the adverbs of the book, which is the area that hasn't been studied deeply. By utilizing methods such as data analysis, description, comparison and some others, the thesis gives a rough picture of the application case of the adverbs in the book.The thesis consists of five chapters, including the preface, which illustrates the object, the methods and the significance of the study and the sources of the applied materials in the thesis, with a detailed introduction of current studies of adverbs in The Secret History of Mongols.The first chapter tries to clarify the characteristics of morphology, semantics and syntax of the adverbs, thus providing the theoretical bases for the following study by comparing the different views of scholars on concepts and classification of adverbs in modern Mongolian.The structures in The Secret History of Mongols is expounded in details and systematically in the second chapter. In studying the structures, the thesis focuses on the description of the affixes and roots of the adverbs of the book and generalizes their morphological characteristics.The functions of the adverbs in The Secret History of Mongols is the main point of chapter three. In studying the functions, it emphasizes on the analysis of the functions of semantics and syntax of the adverbs in the book.The conclusion makes a brief conclusion of the main ideas discussed in the thesis.
