This thesis is an analysis on different versions of the opera "Carmen", including the stage version at the end of the 19th century and some modern versions, with introduction in on their creation background, script plots and disposition of the characters. 3 representative modern female mezzo-soprano singers, with their unique performances are introduced. Emphasis is laid on analysis of their different sound production skills of the same aria. The author's own experience in learning to sing Carmen and the mistakes made at the beginning are also introduced. All these would serve as theoretical preparation in understanding and performance of the opera "Carmen". |
