With the social progress,all-round development has gradually become the standard for the talented in the new period,and music education plays an irreplaceable role in cultivateing up the comprehensive development of people.Music education should belongs to the whole nation and even the humankind as a whole.Education without music is an incomplete education,and people who do not understand music are also incomplete ones.As social music education is an important component of the national music education system,it has mutual promotion and assistance to the national music education,playing an important role in improving the comprehensive quality of the people.Compared with the School Music Education,more people are attracted to participate in social music education for its wide range of educational object,rich teaching content and a variety of teaching methods.Comrade Jiang Zemin has said:"The progress of our country's modernization depends largely on the quality of citizens and the development of human resources." Social music education is an integral part of Quality Education and is not replaced by its moral and aesthetic function in improving the overall quality of people.Nowadays almost every countries has taken the social music education as a key reference in measuring a country's ethnic and cultural qualities of the music and even the degree of civilization.From a personal point of view,the social music education can enhancing ones perceived ability,improving people's overall musicianship and cultivating ones character and moral.In a word,it plays an important role in people's all-round development. Judging from the entire society,the role of education embodies in its auxiliary of school,the promotion to the entire music culture and the improvement to the people's quality.Recently,with people's demand for music education growing,social music education has become an indispensable component in the field of music education.This paper takes social music education in Zaozhuang region as an investigation subject,put forward opinions and recommendations referred on a deep basis of the problems existed not only for Zaozhuang,but also for the whole country.The paper is divided into five parts.The first part elaborates concepts related to music education. The second part gives a brief introduction of natural,economic situation and cultural background of Zaozhuang region.The third part is an investigation and analysis on social music education of Zaozhuang,is accomplished by questionnaires and interviews on management methods,education object,teaching situation,grade assessment,hardware devices,teaching quality and so on,and finally points out problems existed,for example,the scope of education is too restrictive,management of non-standard,utilitarian existence in teaching,the lack of attention to music culture, unified standard of the charges and something else.The fourth part presents the recommendations to resolve issues related to social music education.The fifth part summarizes the whole paper,and prospect the development of our social music education.
