Contemporary Tibetan Artist Group Study

Tibet School is based on "heavy colors on canvas" in contemporary Tibetan paintings,which is an important representation of contemporary Tibetan painting. Through the research on the artists of Tibetan School,this thesis discusses the relations between the tradition culture and artistic creation.Furthermore,it provides reference for the research on the contemporary minority paintings.The thesis consists of five parts:In the introduction,the thesis briefly introduced the worth of the topic,the review of international research in present and research methods.In Chapter 1,the Periodization and development of Tibet School are described,the definition,and formation.In Chapter 2,the learning and developing experiences of interior painters of the Tibet School are elaborated.They assimilate from traditional Tibetan art and played an important role in the establishment of modern Tibet art.In Chapter 3, experiences of learning,developing and drawing of native painters are elaborated in the same way.The last Chapter presents the significance of the development of Tibet School,from the perspectives of painting materials and contents.The main points of the conclusion are as follows:With heavy colored paintings on canvas as the core,the Tibet School is the inheritance assimilation of traditional Tibetan Painting.Interior painters live in Tibet assimilated the traditional Tibetan paintings to develop their own styles.What's more, they brought Tibet contemporary art concepts and practices which had put Tibetan paintings forward.Based on the study of modern art and the influence of interior painter,art concepts and creations of the native Tibetan artists have gradually matured. Together with the interior painters,the native ones introduced a new period in the history of Tibetan painting.The Tibet School is still a developing school.The materials they used are transferring from pure heavy colors to various materials.It tries to change the demonized and deified images,in line with the true lives and social realities in modern Tibet.The Tibet School also provides a reference to the inferior artistic creations on the theme of Tibet.
