Northern Wei Dynasty mural tomb in Shaling, Datong is the only mural tomb found in Pingcheng area of Northern Wei. Not only inscription with official script calligraphy characters recording the years excavated from the tomb, but there are some exquisite mural and spoiled lacquer paintings. All these can provide us with reliable image evidence to study ethnic culture infusion of Pingcheng area of Northern Wei. Therefore, by studying the mural in the tomb of Northern Wei in Shaling, Datong, this paper combines with other tombs images in Pingcheng area of Northern Wei, in order to discusses how to blend ethnic culture infusion in Pingcheng area of Northern Wei by analyzing from iconology.The first problems are the source of the lacquer painting in the demonstration, by analyzing the excavation spot and content of spoiled lacquer painting, we assure that they should be derived from lacquer coffin in the tomb and they use the similar decoration themes and painting contents comparing with chamber paintings, the decorative themes had been popular in chamber paintings in Pingcheng area of Northern Wei and had some relations with the chamber paintings of Sanyan, Gaogouli, these indicate that the chamber image in Pingcheng has blended some culture elements of Sanyan. Meanwhile, this paper discusses the culture diffusion line from Liaodong and Liaoxi district to Pingcheng. In addition, the writer combines with different image system appeared in other tombs in Northern Wei and focuses on the influence of Persian arts, Buddhist art and Pingcheng Period from Northen Wei Dynasty in Pingcheng area.
