Japanese Quantifier Usage Of Japanese And Chinese

It is the common feature of Chinese and Japanese to widely use the quantifier. There are some similarities as well as some differences in the use of the quantifier in the two languages. Based on the study of the quantifier in Japanese, this thesis compares the quantifier in Chinese with the quantifier in Japanese from the function of grammar, classification, lexical meaning and so on. The thesis tries to find out some features of the use of the quantifier both in Chinese and in Japanese from the rhetoric function, mood color function and style color function of the quantifier.The thesis makes reference to some research results of the earlier researchers, such as Asako Iida's Kazoekata no Jiten and Hejie's Study on Modern Chinese Quantifier.
