Chinese And Western News Photography Framework For Analysis

Based on framing theory and framing analysis, and using the content analysis method, this paper aims to make a comparison on frames that news photographes comprise of between Chinese and Western media. It explains how the selection and gate-keeping function is operating in the field of news photography. Photo reporters can make the pictures partially shot, adjust phtography skills and a semiology way to build-up frames. The"invisible concept"behind the news pictures, the journalsitic routines, the professiliam, the national interests and international relations, the ideology and the cutural background and values they hold, all these would have a great impact on how the pictures representing the real wold.
