George Frideric Handel, a great German composer during the late 17th century and the early 18th century period, is an outstanding figure in the development of the European music history. He like his counterpart Bath, had been done the exploration on the music and the method of the great achievements accomplished by the previous. Thus, George's great accomplishments of the art of the music formed a solid foundation for future development of music in the following enlightment period of Europe. "Rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion", an oratorio of Handel, is analyzed in this paper and technical requirements of Bel Canto in songs are studied. The importance of "Rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion" to the practice of Bel Canto in songs is discussed based on the analysis on this aria.
