At present, we use English translations or explanation of Chinese words in most TCSL textbooks. We often come across this condition in the process of teaching: The sentence that the student makes up according to English translations or explanation of Chinese words doesn't correspond with Chinese usage, and the teacher does not know the differences between English and Chinese word, so he or she can only give superficial modifications, but can't give the exact reasons. The research on new news in TCSL all realize that uses English translations or explanation of Chinese words will male students make mistakes in the semantics, the syntax and the language uses based on their mother tongue, encourage that contrast the differences between English and Chinese words and emphasize that apply the contrast in in teaching material. but there are more introductory article ,less concrete words contrast in current research. So we need further research not only from theory but also from teaching practice.This article takes the one to one (a Chinese word to an English word) in Chinese Made Easier (Martin Symonds and hao hao tian, Shaanxi Normal University Press, 2007,CME for short) as reference. From one to one translated and same-translated angle, I adopt quantify, qualitative analysis method under comparative historical linguistics and lexical semantics theory to describe and compare the one to one words. Make use of English-Chinese language corpus to describe, analyze and contrast one type mode of one Chinese Language Textbooks for Overseas Learners, so that we can make the English explanation more scientific and serve the teaching.The paper can be subdivided in to four parts. Chapter 1 is foreword part, it mainly talks about the new words explanation mode research and comparison research between English words and Chinese words, and point out the defects of it, then introduce the theory I use, the research technique and method, the research value of this article.Chapter 2 from fundamental meaning, connotation, meaning change and functional shift angle, deeply research into the inside of words to talk about the field of meaning, semantic field, second attribute meaning, Poly-meaning words structure and part of speech of one to one words. I opine that new words form will not fulfill its task with simple one to one explanation, on contrary ,it add the difficulty to word learning. And I advocate deeply describing and comparing the differences of one to one explanation words under comparative historical linguistics and lexical semantics theory, so that we provide a new angle for TESL's edition and teaching.Chapter 3 from the angle of same-translated, I analyze the one-to-one words again. I opine that the same-translated method covers the difference on the semantics, the syntax and the language uses of same-translated words. The teaching material's misleading and negative transfer make the learners can't acquire new words exactly. This chapter analyzes and compares concrete words from syntax(collocation and style, occasion) and language uses(syllable character and syntactic character), so that we can apply the fruit into words explanation and teaching.Chapter 4 talks about suggestions to words explanation from the principle, method and content of words explanation. I opine that word explanation should comply with four principles, namely context, exactness and conciseness, flexibility and overall information. And we should find out new words explanation methods under these principles, namely that English words explain Chinese words, English words explain Chinese words+simple explanation, English words explain Chinese words+discribition, definition, add words discrimination, and list typical sentences. I opine that words explanation should show the difference on field of meaning and style, summary different morpheme, show the item in the text and generalize syntactic character.The last part summary the paper and point out the value and defect of it...
