Gratitude is a new aspect of positive phsychology . In positive phsychology movement has directed attention toward human strengths and virtues-those inner traits and psychological processes that most cultures , philosophies, and religions have commended as qualities that fit people well for living in the world. Although linguistic equivalents for gratitude reside in virtually every language and major religions have empahasized the importance of grateful expression,very little attention has been paid to gratitude in the sciences. The word gratitude is derived from the Latin griatia, meaning favor, and graus ,meaning pleasing. All derivatives from this Latin root "have to do with kindness, generousness, gift, the beauty of giving and receiving or getting something for nothing". Now, many reasearches give more attention to gratitude. Many evidences proved that gratitude is a highly prized human dispositon. We research gratitute because that is paied an alittle attention by chianese researches, and ve can supplement positive pschology theory. If we can use these results of researching graitude in clinic, shool education and sociaty, accord gratitude exercising and curing, it can help people prevent and solve psychological problems. We know that is valueable thing.Purpose. The main purpouse of this study are to revise the multidimensional Gratitude resentment and Appreciation test (GRAT), and to study the relationships of the gratitude, subjective well-being, coping style and interpersonal disturbances in college students. After that, construct the optimal model of subjective well-being and gratitude. We use an experiment to explore how gratitude influence the subjective well-being.Method and Procedure. With the purpose of constructing the causality and causal model , GRAT, subjective well-being questionnaire, coping style questionnaire , interpersonal disturbances in college students questionnaire were administered to 485 college students who come from KunMing college , Yunnan normal university and KunMing University of Science and Technology. We chose 124 subjects who are come from wenshan normal university, measuring the change of subjects ' subjective well-being. (subjects are random assortmented in three groups , one is hassles group ,subjests in which are asked to think back over the past day and write five hassles things in her/him life , one is gratitude group subjests in which are asked subjectd to think back over the past day and write five gratefull things in her/him life . Another is conrol groups which is just completed the measures. Results . (1) The revised multidimensional Gratitude resentment and Appreciation test (GRAT) has satisfactory psychometrics character, including good reliability and validity. (2)We found gender and major factors have effects on gratitute . There are no significant difference between majors . There are no significant difference in four grades and minorities . There are no significant difference in only child and no- only child. There are no significant difference in where the family has lived. (3) Gratitude can prediction part of coping style, interpersonal disturbances and subjective well-being . Gratitude ,coping style, interpersonal disturbances can prediction part of subjective well-being. Gratitude have the highesr explanotion. (4) coping style, interpersonal disturbances is mediator variable between gratitude and subjective well-being. (5)In experimental research , gratitude can enhance life satisfaction and positive affect, can reduce the negative affect.
