From 6 September 1940 to 23 August 1944, Romania was under the Antonescu's regime, and was in alliance with the Nazi Germany. While Hitler implemented his genocidal policy against the Jews in Europe, Romania's ethnic persecution of Jews also reached a historical peak. Unfortunately, the Jews became the victims to the Antonescu's regime. Antonescu killed a total of 270 thousand Jews with merciless brutality, about 40% of the Jewish population on its controlled territory. However, during World WarⅡ, the tragic destiny of Romania and Ukraine Jews became the most easily neglected problem in the period of holocaust. Chinese scholars often focus on German and Polish Jews. Based on the achievements made by previous scholars from both home and abroad, through the collection and analysis of data, this paper attempt to carding the process of Antonescu regime persecute the Jews clearly and accurately, and analyze the roots of anti-semitism in Romania, finally, evaluate the Jewish policy of Antonescu.This paper is divided into seven parts:PartⅠ: Introduction. In this section, I described the purposes and the meanings of this article, and introduced the general study in this field at home and abroad.PartⅡ: The overview of Jews' history in Romania, the writer introduced the development of the Jews in Romania before the World WarⅡ. The first organized Jewish community set up in Romania at the end of the 16th century; in the mid-19th century, a large number of Jewish immigrants entered into Romania because of the Tsarist Russia's persecution; At the end of 19th century, the Jewish population increased, largely because of the Romania National unity; then in 1918, as the Great Romania established, the population of the Jewish surged into the country; before the 1939, the population of the Jewish had reached 750 thousand. But the Jewish were excluded from the society in the Romania all the time.PartⅢ: The roots of anti-semitism in Romania. From the views of religious, economic, racial, political and combined Romania's specific condition with the specific time background, analyzed the roots of the prevalence of anti-semitism in Romania before the World WarⅡ. Romania's ethnic persecution of Jews reached a historical peak during the Antonescu era, which largely as the result of the spreading four anti-semitism factors.PartⅣ: The Antonescu regime's set up. Introduction the detail backgrounds of Antonescu saved the power. Antonescu came to power was in accordance with the Romania and the Germany's common choice in the specific historical period. Antonescu put his hope that acquires the territory which had lost in "Vienna Arbitration" set up the alliance with Hitler. He intensifies his persecution of the Jews on its territory following Hitler's military operations.PartⅤ: The process of persecution Jewish in Antonescu regime. Time as the spindle, the evolution policy of the Antonescu regime to the Jews as the demarcation point, the process of Antonescu persecution the Jews would be generally divided into six stages: restrict and buffet—holocaust—imprisonment in Ukraine—influence the Jewish in Ukraine—export the Jewish to Palestinian—shield the Hungary Jewish.PartⅥ: The characterized of Antonescu regime persecution the Jews. Antonescu government's "genocide" policy had three characteristics:(1) cruelty, it killed a great number of Jews, the measures also were very cruel; (2) regional, the mortality of Ukraine Jews was higher than the mortality of Romania Jews, in Romania the different regions have different mortality; (3) autonomy, the anti-semitism in Romania during the Second World War have a spontaneous, and in the Hitler era, Romania's Jewish policy has a certain autonomy.PartⅦ: Conclusion. This part summarized the main contents and the basic opinion, highlighted the main thrust of the whole paper. The anti-semitism in Romania reached a historical peak during the Antonescu era, which includes the historical roots, the practical reasons and the person factors. The Jewish policy of the Antonescu could be adjusted "timely" accompany with the change of the international situation.
