Li Xun, Li Zhao Daoqing Green Landscape

The Tang Dynasty was the glorious era in the long feudal society of China. Its prosperous economy and flourishing culture make it the most yearning time for our human beings.Blue-and-green landscape is the mainstream of the landscape-painting in the Tang Dynasty, which shows the aesthetics characteristics of extensiveness and elegance with its resplendent and magnificent color and simple and shibui flavor. Li Sixun and Li Zhaodao, representatives of the landscape-painting in the Tang Dynasty, are very important in the history of Chinese painting. After Tang and Song Dynasty, the style of landscape-painting represented by the two Lis weakened gradually. Therefore, a resurvey of the blue-and-green landscape which is a good part of our traditional Chinese painting is very important to the development of our modern Chinese painting.On the existing research and through comparison and analysis, this thesis selects some works which are identified commonly by the educational circles as the two Li's style and which can represent their style and classifies several questions about the research of the two Li's blue-and-green landscape paintings with some ancient passages about them. This thesis also elaborates on the characteristics of the two Li's blue-and-green landscape paintings, the cause of formation of the two Li's blue-and-green landscape paintings and their destiny. Finally, this thesis analyzes the continuance and change of the blue-and-green landscape paintings in the modern time through the analysis of several modern painters'blue-and-green landscape paintings. This thesis will conduct the analysis and elaboration in the following four aspects.In part one, this thesis demonstrates that works like"painting of the attic and sail","Ming Huang's travel to Shu area","a travel in the spring mountain"are the main picture materials for the research of the two Lis through the comparison and analysis of Wang Bomin, Fu Xiniang and Chen Chuanxi's study of works related to the two Lis combined with some ancient works. And then this thesis demonstrates that the works of the two Lis has the characteristics of texturing methods or types of texture strokes and the change of mountain and water, which helps to perfect the appearance of blue-and-green landscape paintings. That becomes the basis of research of the two Lis'blue-and-green landscape paintings.In part two, the stylistic characteristics of the two Li's blue-and-green landscape paintings will be elaborated from the four aspects of their paintings which are the vigorous lines, the golden, classic and superior color, the panoramic composition of pictures and the pure and fresh artistic conception.In part three, this thesis goes on with the research of the cause of formation of the two Lis'blue-and-green landscape paintings and then elaborate the destiny of blue-and-green landscape paintings through the study of the relation between the social background, aesthetic perception, individual experience, painting materials and the cause of the formation of the painting style and their study of tradition and nature. In part four, that the blue-and-green landscape paintings embodies energy, beauty, splendor and freshness will be expounded on through the analysis of works of the modern blue-and-green landscape painters, Xujun, Qi Enjin, Lin Rongsheng and Xueliang.
