This paper based on the domestic and foreign available researches into the relationship between Internet addiction and mental health, introduces the college students'general situation in Internet addiction and mental health by using a self-invented questionaire to investigate the college students' basic information and their mental health, probes into the difference in mental health of the college students who vary in degree of Internet addiction, provides solutions and suggestions to prevent and protect college students from Internet addiction. The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1) The degree of collge students' Internet addiction shows no big difference in aspects of grade, major, being a only child or not and being in a single family or not. But, there is a notable difference in their degree of Internet addiction in aspects of sex and hometowns.(2) Compared to normal people, the college students, as a whole, are weaker in mental health with a higher score in obsession and compulsion, interpersonal relation and depression. Their degree of mental health shows no significant difference in aspects of sex, hometowns, grade, and being only child or not, but there is a notable relationship to their majors and being in a single family or not.(3) There is a significant difference in the degree of their mental health and their addiction to Internet with a normal interaction between the two. The Internet addiction group has a higher average score than that of the dependence group in the SCL-90 and factor level, while the dependence group has higher average score than that of the normal group.(4). There is a significantly positive relationship between the total score of Internet addiction and the factor level of mental health, between the degree of Internet addiction and the factor level of mental health, between the four factors of Internetl addiction and the ten factors of mental health, revealing a significant difference between the collge students' degree of Internet addiction and mental health. There is a linear relationship between the collge students' total score of SCL-90 and their addiction to Internet.
